Targeted Action and Financing the Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance in Asia

Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is not just a looming health crisis - it is already a deadly reality, demanding urgent and coordinated global action. The Centre for Impact Investing and Practices, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum's Giving to Amplify Earth Action (GAEA) initiative, supported by the Philanthropy Asia Alliance (PAA), developed a study on the threat of AMR in Asia with the following objectives:

1. To explore the multi-faceted social, economic, and environmental factors contributing to AMR in Asia's healthcare and agriculture sectors.

2. To identify shortfalls in financing in clinical development and healthcare systems that can be alleviated by private and catalytic capital.

3. To create a compelling case for collaborative action among investors, philanthropists, and companies, by outlining actionable strategies and financing models that can supercharge the fight against AMR.
