Faith and Giving: An Opportunity for Learning and Collaboration
Faith-aligned funders have deployed significant capital towards social impact outcomes for thousands of years. The momentous potential for faith-aligned capital to contribute to addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) financing gap, cannot be understated. One estimate puts the value of net assets held by a group of faith-based organisations around the world at USD 5 trillion (Oxford Said Business School, 2022).
In Asia, approaches to faith-led giving are yet to be understood. As a neutral platforms that seeks to unlock more capital for impact, AVPN has taken the opportunity to launch an initiative aimed at propelling awareness, learning and engagement in order to break down silos and see more resources effectively and efficiently channelled towards addressing the SDGs in the region.
The initiative will focus on the region’s four biggest faiths: Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism and Islam
